Elvis appeared three times on the Ed Sullivan show between 1956-1957 and was paid $50000 for the three shows. Close to $17000 for each appearance; which would have an equivalence of around $600,000 today. His last appearance was censored. Only showing Elvis from the waste up. Ed Sullivan was worried his dancing may solicit sex to young viewers.
